Join us into the wilderness of Lent as we gather for worship this Sunday and consider the scripture of Jesus tempted by the Devil according to the Gospel of Matthew. What are those temptations in our lives that we can see just a little better when we take the time to notice. The disciplines of Lent are designed to help us take that time and notice. We’ll begin our traditional Lenten practice of lighting prayer candles again and continue through the next 6 weeks. We hope you can join us on-site or on-line.

It takes all he has to hold to his truth and his purpose as God’s beloved son come to restore and to save, not to conquer and dominate. The devil has other ideas for him. What might the story have to say to us today in a world of falsehoods, disinformation, and the devotion to “strongmen”? To balance out the heavier theme here at the start of Lent we will have the blessing of baptizing one of our church children, Josie R. who will be joined by her family for the occasion. We hope you’ll join us in person or online to begin our Lenten journey into the deeper realms of the soul.
