It’s the 3rd Sunday of Advent, and this week during worship we welcome early music and chant specialist, Justina Golden, to help illuminate a meditation on the O Antiphons, an ancient Christian Advent singing and prayer practice that prepares us for the coming of Christ. Justina will sing each of the 7 O Antiphons in the original Gregorian Chant, immediately followed by a special improvisation. Rev. Will will offer brief reflections on each antiphon as well and all together we will sing O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, the carol derived from the O Antiphons. We hope you’ll join us either in person or online.

This Tuesday we’ll be considering O Adonai and O Root of Jesse and how they arise out of Old Testament prophecies and New Testament witnesses. The various versions of “O Come O Come Emmanuel” that we listen to at the start of each class are worth the price of admission alone!
