Join us this Sunday for our celebration of Pentecost. It’s Memorial Day weekend, but within the church, the “in memoriam” is for the start of the church 2000 years ago when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples and inspired them to both come together and go forth into the world to share the good news of God’s love as known in Jesus Christ. Come join us for a reflective celebration of the beginnings and continued importance of the church in the world. We’ll live stream the service at this link.

Join us for Pentecost Sunday (May 19, 2024)

We have a special service on tap for this Sunday. The coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost is considered by many to be the birthday of the church and for this special occasion the choir, strings, and organ will be blessing us with Schubert’s Mass in G. Click here for more details about this beautiful work. We’ll hear the story of the Holy Spirit dramatically descending on the disciples like a violent wind and tongues of flame and consider the implications for our own lives. Join us in person or on-line at 10am!

Please join us for worship on Sunday, May 19, either in the Sanctuary of our church or on live stream. In celebration of Pentecost, the music program will offer Franz Schubert’s lyrical, dramatic, and beautiful Mass in G with chorus, soloists, strings, and organ.

It’s a BIG Sunday this week – Pentecost, Communion, and Confirmation all rolled into one! 11 of our Youth have been meeting twice-a-month throughout this year reading through the Gospel of Luke, learning more about our Christian faith, praying together, and preparing for Confirmation which will be celebrated this Sunday in worship. We’ll welcome many of these youth into membership in the church and honor their faith journey to this point and bless the road ahead of them. We hope you will come to church or join us online for this sacred service of worship and celebration!

Join Us for Pentecost Sunday Worship (May 23, 2021)

It’s Pentecost!! The ‘birthday’ of the church. Each year we hear again the story of the arrival of the Holy Spirit and see Peter take on the mantle of leadership. Again this week various choir members will lead us by singing the hymns along with us. Rev. Will will share moments from two baptisms he performed last week. I say ‘two’ baptisms – but one family had 4 family members baptized. May is Mental Health month which comes as we emerge from the pandemic separation. While we celebrate this next step, for many it will be a time of trial. It is our hope that the closing prayer will remind everyone that Mental Health is an important part of our Spiritual health. We will be prerecorded this Sunday and hope you will join in watching at 10:00 am (or whenever you and your family can gather for worship).

We hope you will join us for worship on-line this Sunday at 10 am (or whenever works best for you!) as we celebrate the culmination of the Easter story at Pentecost. As the Holy Spirit broke through limitations of tongue to touch the hearts of the people in Jerusalem that day, so we will hear our liturgy offered in a number of different languages (subtitles included). Also, how can we keep from dancing at the coming of the Holy Spirit? We’ll have the special gift of including a dance performed for our community by Jane Ring Frank’s God-daughter, Johanna Kepler! Accompany us in this special worship experience. The link to the pre-recorded service and the bulletin will go out at 9:45 am Sunday morning.
