Dear Fellow Congregants, the annual Summer Picnic is just around the corner on June 14th, and the Justice Ministry want to make it another delicious celebration this year. We are hoping that some of you would be willing to help contribute to the feast; we have the basics covered, but we’d love it if you would be help fill in the gaps with snacks, drinks and yummy desserts.

The choir and the bell choir will support our praise of God as we consider from our sacred texts a surprising encounter with Jesus and his family. The kids will gather with Maggie for the Time for the Young and then head outside to romp on the front lawn. After worship we’ll all join the children outside on the patio and enjoy a picnic together. We hope you can join us for this festive morning of worship and community.

End-of-Year Picnic

There will be a celebratory picnic out on the Abbe Patio immediately following the service with lawn games and a bouncy-house for the kiddos. We hope you’ll join us for this celebratory send-off into the summer!

Each Sunday we allow our sacred Biblical text to guide us into song, prayer, and reflection and stir within our souls ponderings and questions that can deepen and enrich the way we live. We can pursue questions and answers on the internet by ourselves, of course, that’s easier than ever. But asking the deeper questions of life that don’t necessarily have google-able answers is best done in community and with song and prayer. This week our guiding scripture is from Luke 15 where Jesus tells two small stories about lost things. Very quickly the smallest of stories told by Jesus lead to BIG questions of life and death and the handiwork of grace. Let’s pursue some of these questions together! Come join us in the sanctuary or on-line at 10am this Sunday.

 

On Sunday Sep 11 we will be regathering in the sanctuary for Worship at 10am where the choir will be back in full voice and Rev Will will be preaching on the parable of the lost sheep and coin. The Church Picnic will be on the lawn immediately following the service. There will be games and a bouncy house for the young.

This Week in Worship Sunday, September 8, 2019

The choir is back in town, the Ministry Team has returned full force and many of you have landed from summer vacation. We hope you’ll gather back together for worship this Sunday at 10 am for a rich service of prayer, reflection, music and connection to God and one another. Immediately after worship – assuming good weather – we’ll gather for a picnic lunch out on the front porch/lawn. We look forward to seeing you all!

Welcoming Picnic
Sunday, Sep 8 at 11:30 am

We’ll begin this program year as we ended last, with a lovely picnic out on the front porch and lawn. The bouncy castle will even make another appearance!

We will have the usual: ALL NUT-FREE: sandwiches, salad, pasta and broccoli, potato salad, chips and cake, Klondike bars, water and ice.
