Though we are many people, we are one in Christ: strengthened and connected by the love of Jesus’s ministry and enduring legacy of peace, fellowship, and justice. Our Scripture readings this Sunday come from the lectionary: Psalm 137:1-6 (the cry of the people of God under the oppression of Babylon) and Luke 17:5-10 (faith the size of a mustard seed). Grounded in our sacred texts, we will ask this question: “how can we sing of God in a foreign land?” Music, prayers, contemplation–we hope you can join us this Sunday in person or online.

The first Sunday of October is always World Communion Sunday and you are invited this Sunday to our Lord’s Table along with some of our youth who will be offering the communion liturgy in the various languages that they speak (or are learning). As violence seems to be spiraling out in the Middle East and Russia’s war against Ukraine grinds into another month almost 2 years later, how can we come mindfully and faithfully to Jesus’ table on this World Communion Sunday? Partly by remembering the way, the truth and the life of Jesus and how his way offers an alternative to what seems to be the favorite human response to hatred and violence: more hatred and violence. You can join us in person or online at 10am or access the service later in the week at our YouTube Channel – “FCCW Channel”

Celebrated rightly, the boundaries of the Lord’s Table are deep and broad indeed!. We hope you’ll come join us.
