Join us for our Jazz Blessing of the Animals on the Town Common (October 19, 2025)
St Hildegard of Bingen says “every creature is a glimmering glistening mirror of the divine” and this we celebrate as we gather out on the Town Common for our annual Animal Blessing service this Sunday. Rev. Will has returned from his sabbatical and he and Rev. Maeve will be joyfully available to bless the “glimmering mirrors of the divine” that are your beloved pets. In the past we’ve blessed dogs, cats, reptiles, bunnies, goats, stuffed animals and pictures of pets too, so come with your pets and join us in the worship God. Our wonderful Jazz Band will lead the music and will start playing by 9:40 to call people together for this special occasion, so come on early to hear some great music too. We hope for a beautiful fall morning in Winchester (service will be held in Chidley if it’s rainy).Caring Canines Visiting Therapy Dogs, Inc. is a Massachusetts based nonprofit therapy dog organization that has been serving the metro Boston area (including Winchester) since 2001. Support Caring Canines mission to improve the quality of life and emotional health of those they visit by donating to the special offering that will be collected at the Blessing of the Animals.
