The Mission and Outreach Ministry identifies opportunities for members of the church to serve the world through hands-on service, collections, and information and advocacy events.
We focus on alleviating hunger, combating homelessness, and helping women, teens, and children at risk. We maintain our efforts to work with organizations where we can be physically involved.
Hands-On Outreach
Through our Outreach Commission we are active participants in the community. There are so many ways to contribute, make a difference and live out your faith. We organize activities and encourage all church members to participate :
Little Red Wagon: Help fill our wagon outside the church office with healthy, non-perishable food (Red Wagon food list) . An ongoing food collection for the Woburn Council for Social Concern open food pantry.
The Dwelling Place: Prepare and serve a meal on the third Saturday of every month. Families welcome.
Delivering food in Harvard Square with The Outdoor Church
Outdoor Church: Every 5th Sunday volunteers make sandwiches for homeless people and deliver them with the Outdoor Church in Cambridge.
Turkey Drive (Thanksgiving): Church members donate turkeys, and the FCC youth group delivers them to Pilgrim Church in Boston.
Thanksgiving Basket Collection: We work with FAN Winchester to collect items for Thanksgiving food baskets for families in Woburn and Winchester, and they are assembled in our church the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
