  • All Saints & All Souls (November 3, 2024)

Tonight is the night of death and monsters, ghosts and ghouls, witches and of course mini-Taylor Swifts. Halloween originated as a pagan holiday that was absorbed by Christendom to prepare for the feast days of All Saints and All Souls with an evening of embracing and even enjoying the spectors of evil, death, darkness and fear. How can we possibly take such things lightly? Because in the end we believe that evil and death do not have the last word and are ultimately nothing to fear. In worship on Sunday we will celebrate God who has the last word in the Last Supper. Jesus suffers the evils of the world, dies out of love for the world, and returns in forgiveness to guide us to God’s realm in this world and the next. Come join us in person or online (It’ll also be a good way to prepare yourself for the frightful election coming up)!
