The 5th Sunday after Easter in the church calendar. The scripture, though, reaches back to Jesus instructing the disciples in preparation of his no longer being with them. The New Testament text is John 15:1-8 and contains the very familiar portrayal of the disciples’ relationship to Jesus as “I am the vine, you are the branches”. The sermon will unpack what Jesus means when he talks about ‘abiding in him’. As it is the first Sunday in May, we will be celebrating communion and the service will be held on Zoom and be followed by a virtual coffee hour. This Sunday we will again have Susan Navien and Peter Owens leading us in the hymn singing. We begin at 10:00 a.m. and hope you will join us.
