Ripley Presents: Solar Winds and “Impressions of Spring”
Live in-person and live streamed from the stunning Ripley Chapel, please join us for our final concert of the 2025-26 season – Solar Winds and “Impressions of Spring,” a compelling and inspiring program of music written especially for woodwinds.Solar Winds bring music of the highest quality to recital halls and schools throughout the Boston area. The five musicians who comprise the heart of Solar Winds – a traditional woodwind quintet – are professionally trained instrumentalists and music educators. You will hear Jill Dreeben, flute; Charlyn Bethell, oboe; Diane Heffner, clarinet; Sally Merriman, bassoon.

“Impressions of Spring” will offer quartets for flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. You will hear stunning works from Gioacchino Rossini (Quartet No. 6, written by a very young Rossini); Jean Françaix (Quatour, witty, conversational, and neo-classical); Alyssa Morris (Brush Strokes, aural representatives of Monet’s impressionism and Pollock’s drips), and Karl Eduard Goepfart (Wind Quartet, op. 93, a student of Franz Liszt).
