This year, The First Congregational Church in Winchester will be celebrating Earth Day on Sunday, April 28th. In order to build on the momentum of the Earth Day service that Sunday, the Green Congregation Taskforce is sponsoring an 11th Hour Presentation in the Palmer Room. A big thank you goes to the Children and Youth Faith Formation Ministry who will be providing coffee and refreshments in the adjoining Tucker Room.
The 11th Hour PowerPoint Presentation will focus on the cost-saving and carbon-reducing implications of equipping FCCW with solar panels to generate its own electrical power. A carbon-free source of energy generation, the use of solar also dramatically reduces our electrical costs and dependency on utilities. Most importantly, by seeking to become carbon-neutral through solar energy – we witness to our surrounding town and communities that FCCW is a church that actively cares for our environment and the world.
