This Sunday is the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost. As you may know, the church has seasons and scripture selected specifically for those seasons. The longest season is ‘After Pentecost’, which is referred to as the ‘long green season’ (may that always be an apt description). This season goes right up to the first Sunday in Advent, December 2 – which begins a new church year. Our Stewardship program falls in this unclaimed Autumn season. It begins formally this Sunday and will feature faith moments from members of the Congregation. Somewhat like the summer sermons, hearing from a fellow parishioner can be very inspiring. Andy Richter will be the first speaker. Along with that faith moment, worship will include the 3rd Grade Stepping Stones children receiving their Bibles. AND, there will be a sermon! The scripture is Mark 10:35-45 – continuing Jesus’ dialogue with the disciples in anticipation of his departure. We will explore Jesus’ words that focus on service. The choir will be with us after a Sunday off for the Animal Blessing. Join us. It won’t be the same without you!
