Beware: Scams Abound!
Dear Church,
I’m sorry that some of you continue to receive scam emails from someone posing as me or someone else on staff, requesting money or gift cards or whatever else. This continues to happen to many churches where the scammers are posing as clergy making requests of parishioners. See this article from our Conference website which lays out some actions you can take to ensure authenticity. Please note that if you receive an email from any address other than – will@fcc-winchester.org, even if it has my name attached to it, it is not from me. And please reach out to me directly for a conversation before responding to any requests for money. Now if it’s a request to serve on a particular committee or ministry then you can be pretty sure it’s me and you can respond in the affirmative! 🙂
