Week 2: What has the Open Doors Working Group been working on?
In this slide, we are giving a brief summary of what ODWG has done and is currently working on. Last year we sought input from the congregation, ministry team and staff. We took time to consider the complexities of the situation and came to the congregation, at the annual meeting in May, with a proposal that we imagine the building in two zones – a congregation zone and a mission zone. This year we have been starting the work of seeing how these two zones might take shape. We have a draft of a space plan, checking in with all the members of the ministry team to work out what space we need to support a flourishing and vibrant church. We have also created a draft rubric to evaluate the many ideas we heard from the congregation for the future use of the mission zone.
