Does my pledge really make a difference?
Absolutely. It often comes as a surprise when people learn that First Congregational relies almost entirely on the annual pledging that members of our faith community provide. About two-thirds of the income needed to operate and maintain our church comes from pledges. No financial resources come to the church from our larger denomination, the UCC. In fact, our church in Winchester provides its financial support to both the national UCC and the Massachusetts Conference of the UCC each year, as a part of our covenantal relationship with our denomination and so together with other churches we can have a larger impact upon the needs around the world.
