Please join us this Sunday, October 27, 2019 11:30 a.m (after church) Palmer Room for our third session. This week we take a look at the Gospels, the first attempts to write down the story of Jesus’ life and death. We will explore how each Gospel is different, reflecting the time and circumstances during which it was written, the author/s point of view, and the audience it was meant to address.
Presented by The Adult Faith Exploration Ministry
Continuing in our series about the three religions that share Abraham as an ancestor – Christianity, Judaism and Islam, this fall the Adult Faith Exploration Ministry offers a look at our Christian roots. Frontline’s, “From Jesus to Christ: The First Christians” is a historical documentary that tells the epic story of the rise of Christianity. The four 1-hour videos explore the life of Jesus, his death, and the men and women whose belief, conviction, and martyrdom created the religion we now know as Christianity. The series will be shown on four Sundays after worship: 9/29, 10/6, 10/27 and 11/3. The first program on Sunday, September 29 at 11:30 will examine how Judaism and Roman rule shaped Jesus’ life. We hope you can join us for this visually compelling and thought provoking study (a light lunch will be provided). If you need child care, please contact Judy Arnold or Laurie Roby so that we can arrange for it.
