Sunday, March 11, is the fourth Sunday in Lent. The lectionary scripture is from the Gospel of John, Chapter 3:14-21. This contains the ‘famous’ John 3:16 that can be seen on handmade signs at football games: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” We will focus on the later verses that address darkness and light – a dichotomy that John employs throughout his gospel. It seems like a fitting focus for the first day with an extra hour of light. We will continue our Lenten tradition of lighting candles for our prayers. The anthem is based on the beloved Psalm 23. Stepping Stones and Youth classes continue. We hope you join us.
