It is Transfiguration Sunday, the Sunday before Lent begins, and we’ll encounter Jesus on the mountaintop shining like the sun. Mountaintops are a prime place of encounter with God in the scriptures and they are always accompanied with a descent back down to the valley. Where are you as we move into the season of Lent, on top of the world or in the shadowed valley? Either way the command we receive from the word of God is “listen.” Listen whether you are on the mountain or in the valley or somewhere in between. Listen to the voice that calls you to life. Whether you are literally in the mountains this weekend or will imagine Jesus and his disciples there, we invite you to join us for worship in-person in the sanctuary at 10 am or online at 10 am or whenever you can tune in.
