Dear friends,
A pivotal climate bill just passed the Massachusetts legislature, which if passed would have a big impact on climate and clean energy for our state. It now sits on Governor Baker’s desk awaiting his signature. The deadline is July 31st.
As people of faith, this is an opportunity to bring consequential values (such as concern for the common good as well as care for Creation) to the public square. By calling the Governor’s office and asking him to sign the climate bill, H.5060, your advocacy could make a difference.
You can reach the Governor’s office at 617-725-4005. A suggested script is below:
“Hello, my name is ____ and I live at [address]. I am calling to ask Governor Baker to sign the climate bill, H.5060, without delay. As a person of faith, it is important to me that we take every action possible to care for our neighbors and Creation [or other personal reason].”
You can also tweet your support for the bill — be sure to tag @MassGovernor
