One way to think of it is as an intersection between the Leadership Team and the congregation for discussion and presentation. The Leadership Team is requesting a Forum in January to promote understanding and communication between ministries as we approach the halfway point in our program year.
A representative from every ministry, living or standing, is invited to come, enjoy dinner and fellowship, and share what your ministry is working on. A wider invitation is extended to all interested friends and members as well. If you are interested in getting involved with a ministry, even in a small way, this will be a chance to learn about the many fulfilling choices for service.
The Leadership Team will lead off (no pun intended) with a presentation on their work. They are interested in your feedback, questions, and ideas. Each ministry will also have a chance to briefly share their accomplishments, struggles and plans. You will be asked to raise issues that could be the focus of problem-solving at future Purpose Forum meetings. There will be time over coffee and dessert for discussion and collaboration.
After experimenting last year with a monthly format and soliciting feedback through a self-evaluation process, we decided to scale back to two to three forums per program year. If issues arise that warrant wide discussion, interim forums can be scheduled.
Well, in addition to good food, excellent company, and stimulating discussion, don’t forget the Innovation Fund. Your ministry can apply for funding for new projects you otherwise wouldn’t be able to accomplish.
We look forward to seeing you January 25th!
