  • RIM International Concert to Include Winchester Violinist

Thursday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m., First Parish Malden, 2 Elm Street, Malden, MA

The May 10th International Concert of the Refugee Immigration Ministry will include Sarah Campbell, a Winchester High School freshman who studies at New England Conservatory Prep. Of her participation she says, “I hope to raise awareness of the lives of community members seeking asylum in the Boston area. When I perform, I am captivated by the power to connect with audience members. I look forward being part of a movement that raises awareness and support for the people around us who have gone through unimaginable struggles to find a place to call home.”

The concert, a multicultural event, also includes performers from NOOR Ensemble, Koleinu (Boston’s Jewish Community Chorus), a Hindu Choir, New England Sikh Study Circle, and Baptist and Unitarian church choirs.

Refugee Immigration Ministry is a nonprofit resettlement organization for asylum seekers. RIM provides structure through case management, interfaith collaboration among congregations, and community-based support for its clients. Two Winchester churches–the First Congregational Church and St. Mary’s—participate in the Metro North Cluster of RIM.

The concert is on Thursday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m., First Parish Malden, 2 Elm Street, Malden, MA. Tickets $20 / Students $10. Purchase tickets at the door or online at http://www.r-i-m.net
