  • Ripley Chapel Re-Dedication: Opening to the Spirit and to the Future

    Friday, October 18, 2019, 7:30 PM

As work on Ripley Chapel continues, the contractors have broken through the main chancel wall to create an opening through which new light is shining, with a view to God’s natural world – our beloved Jena Roy’s imaginative and long-ago vision coming to completion.

On Friday, October 18, 2019, 7:30 PM, you are invited to join us for a Celebration and Re-dedication of Ripley Chapel! That evening, we will honor the renovation of the Chapel with a beautiful, tuneful Taizé service, led by Reverend Will and a band of professional instrumentalists and vocalists, including Johann Soults, Beth Welty, Rob Skinner and more. With candles and chants, prayers and litanies, meditation and singing, we will re-claim Ripley Chapel as a treasured addition to our church and as home for pilgrims young and old. You are invited to worship, pray and sing with us; the service will be followed by a festive and joyful reception.

As vital, sacred space, Ripley Chapel offers us the opportunity to enhance and deepen our spiritual lives. We aspire to offer engaging worship, contemplative practices, centering prayer, yoga, as well as a vibrant resource for youth and children alike. And Ripley will be home to rich artistic expression: concerts, art, poetry and more, where our neighbors and the larger community will be most welcome!

We thank Jena for the seeds she planted; we thank each donor and supporter for steadfastly holding the vision; we thank the Ripley family for a cherished resource that can grow and move with us into the future.
