A Note from Your Treasurer:
I have two short budget-related items to call to your attention this month.
First, we will be kicking off the 2017 budget planning process soon. While this process typically involves representatives from our various Ministries, I am always interested in getting input from the wider congregation. Do you have concerns or suggestions related to the 2017 budget? I’d love to hear from you.
Second, as we approach the end of 2016 (!) I am keeping a very close eye on pledge income. Overall we are pretty much on track with pledge payments through October, and I encourage everyone to review their pledge payment status and “catch up” if needed. There are a few pledge units that are significantly behind at this point. I realize that some people prefer to wait until the end of the year to do their charitable giving, and in other cases family financial situations may have changed during the course of the year. My primary concern is that we not be surprised by a pledge shortfall which only becomes evident in late December. So if your financial situation has changed such that you will not be able to fulfill your 2016 pledge, please let me know. A quick e-mail, a phone call, or a brief word after church will do. As a reminder, your pledge payment history is treated as confidential and is available only to the Treasurer, Office Manager, and Bookkeeper. Thanks, as always, for your generosity.
