  • Bylaw Update

In 2015, the Church voted to update its governance structure in support of our purpose to be a Christ-centered nurturing community, growing in faith, serving in love, and welcoming all with joy. Since then many of the elements of this new plan have taken shape. One of the remaining tasks is for us to recognize these changes formally by updating our bylaws.

We have been tasked by the Leadership Team to draft proposed bylaws reflecting our new structure. To that end, we have been working diligently since last summer and conferring regularly with the Leadership Team throughout the process.  Some of the new language will address the introduction of a Leadership Team and the composition of various Ministries (Sustaining and Living) to replace the Purpose Forum and committees of the past. Through these bylaws, we hope to capture a structure that will allow for greater flexibility for our church leadership, pastoral team and ministries to address the needs of the Church as they arise in the future.

We expect this work to be ready for an informative session for the Church sometime in February in advance of its formal presentation to the Church at our March annual meeting.
