The Lectionary passage that will undergird the worship service is Mark 9:38-50. Jesus continues to champion the ‘little ones’ and to remind the disciples and us that in his eyes there is no hierarchy of worthiness. This sounds like a platitude until Jesus’ words come to life in events going on around us this week.
