This second Sunday of Lent, Jesus asks us to ‘take up our own crosses’ and follow him. We might characterize the work of Lent that way – identifying and naming some of the crosses we carry; shining light in places we have ignored or dismissed as not about us. The special focus of the scripture interpretation in the sermon will be on Mental Illness and how we have moved away from the acceptance and inclusion of illnesses of the brain. The choir will be sharing a beautiful anthem: Lord for Thy Tender Mercies Sake; and we will continue our Lenten tradition of candle lighting. We hope you join us.
