  • Ripley Presents: An Evening of poetry with Terry E. Carter

Contemporary life & faith experiences translated into word pictures.

LIVE and LIVE STREAMED: FRIDAY, April 14, 2023, 7:30 p.m.

Live in-person and live streamed from the stunning Ripley Chapel at First Congregational Church, Winchester. Please join us for a dynamic evening of poetry and storytelling with Medford’s inaugural Poet Laureate: Terry E. Carter

With engaging and warm stage presence, Terry inspires his audiences, bringing his gifts for poetry and “poetic storytelling” to life. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Fisk University and completed a graduate fellowship in Mass Communications at Boston University.

Terry is a husband, a father, a teacher, a visual artist and a jazz aficionado. These experiences permeate his writing and his art. His life influences are family, race, culture, and a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He has now published five volumes of poetry, including his latest book, “Brown Skin and the Brave New World: A Poet’s Anthem.” Terry’s books will be available for sale at the event. For more information on Terry, his books and his work, please visit: www.brownskinnedpoet.net.

Admission is free of charge. A free will offering will be taken at the door to support the work of Living Water Outreach for Girls, Inc., a Christian girls’ ministry (aged 10 – 16), located on Boston’s South Shore. Living Water Outreach provides training in liturgical dance and discipleship and engages the girls in community service, preparing them for local and global missions.
