Thank you to all who prayed for the Associate Pastor Search Committee throughout our discernment process. We were so pleased to share the outcome of our work during our recent Congregational Conversations and appreciated your hearty support of our plan to move forward.
To that end, we are excited to announce that Maeve Hammond has accepted our offer to join FCCW as a Pastoral Resident! She will begin her work with us the first week of November and her first Sunday will be November 13th when she will be preaching, and everyone will have a chance to greet her after worship during Hospitality Hour. We hope you will join us for that celebratory Sunday!
If you haven’t had a chance to hear about Maeve, here’s a little more about her:
Maeve Hammond began her discernment into vocational ministry in 2018 as an undergraduate student at Davidson College in North Carolina while studying Hispanic Studies and English. Pursuing ordination in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), she graduated with her Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in May 2022. Maeve has previously served as a Ministry Fellow at First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan and as a hospital, university, grief, and small-group chaplain. She is passionate about religious education, pastoral and spiritual care, social justice, and fellowship. Maeve is honored to be considered for the opportunity to serve as a Pastoral Resident at First Congregational Church in Winchester and support its many ministries. In her free time, Maeve loves to visit bookstores, be in nature, and spend time with her loved ones, including her cats Maizie and Barbie.
We were drawn to Maeve’s curiosity, intellect, quiet confidence, humility, and sweet spirit, as well as her ability to connect across the generations. We’re so excited to bring her on board as an integral part of the Ministry Team and can’t wait for you to meet her!
